The View co-host Ana Navarro has sharply condemned voters who supported Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, attributing the ongoing mass deportations to their choice. During a recent appearance on The View: Behind the Desk podcast, Navarro expressed particular frustration with Cuban and Venezuelan voters in Miami. She argued that these voters were aware of Trump's stance on immigration yet prioritized other concerns like rising prices. Now, she says, many are expressing regret as they witness the impact of the deportations on their communities.
Navarro highlighted the distress among some of these voters, who are now witnessing friends and family members being detained and deported. She referenced the non-renewal of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans as a contributing factor to the current situation. Navarro's criticism extends beyond specific demographics, however. She characterized Trump as a "heartless liar" and placed the blame for the deportations squarely on those who voted for him, asserting that the rest of the country must now grapple with the consequences of their decision.
Navarro's comments come amidst reports of increased immigration enforcement actions since Trump's inauguration in January. The Department of Homeland Security recently announced the removal of over 7,000 undocumented immigrants. During his campaign, Trump pledged to prioritize deportations and enhance border security, resonating with many voters who considered immigration a key issue.
