Following Pat Sajak's retirement announcement from "Wheel of Fortune" after its upcoming 41st season, speculation abounds regarding his successor. Among the potential candidates being considered by Sony Group Corp, the show's owner, is the well-known television personality Ryan Seacrest, according to reports from Bloomberg citing inside sources. Fox News Digital has contacted both "Wheel of Fortune" and Seacrest's representatives for confirmation.
Seacrest recently relocated back to Los Angeles after departing his co-hosting role on "Live with Kelly and Ryan." He continues to host "American Idol" and has helmed the annual "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve" countdown since 2007.

Sajak, who has hosted the show since 1981, shared his retirement news on Monday via Twitter: "Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all."
Social media has seen fans suggesting Pat Sajak's daughter, Maggie Sajak, as a potential replacement. Maggie currently serves as the show's social media correspondent and has previously filled in for Vanna White, turning letters in 2019 and earlier this year.

While Vanna White has not publicly addressed her plans following Sajak's departure, she expressed her congratulations to him on Twitter: "When we started @WheelofFortune who could have imagined we’d still be at it 41 seasons later? I couldn’t be happier to have shared the stage with you for all these years with one more to come. Cheers to you, @patsajak!"
