As Super Bowl LIX approaches, star running back Saquon Barkley has his sights set on more than just a birthday celebration. The Philadelphia Eagles player, who recently turned 28, is aiming for his first Super Bowl ring while also chasing a significant NFL rushing record.
Barkley is a mere 30 yards away from surpassing Terrell Davis's 1998 record of 2,476 rushing yards, including postseason games. While reaching the Super Bowl is a dream come true, Barkley emphasized that his ultimate goal is to win the championship.
During Super Bowl LIX Opening Night, he expressed his excitement about playing on the big stage but reiterated that his ambition extends beyond simply participating. He believes the Eagles have the potential to secure the victory.
Barkley's outstanding performance in his first season with Philadelphia earned him the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year award. He amassed an impressive 2,005 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns during the regular season. His postseason performance has been equally remarkable, adding another 442 yards and five touchdowns to his tally.
