Zeldin Claims Recovery of Billion in Misused EPA Funds

Created: JANUARY 05, 2025

Former Congressman Lee Zeldin, appointed EPA Administrator under President Trump, announced the discovery and intended recovery of $20 billion in taxpayer funds allegedly misused by the Biden administration. Zeldin referenced a video from December in which a Biden EPA appointee described the administration's actions as "tossing gold bars off the Titanic," implying a deliberate waste of taxpayer money before the inauguration. Zeldin stated these funds were found "parked" at an external financial institution, although he didn't name the institution. He emphasized that this alleged scheme was unprecedented in EPA history and designed to quickly obligate funds with minimal oversight. Zeldin assured there's no suspicion of wrongdoing by the financial institution but believes the agreement should be terminated immediately, returning the funds to EPA control. He pledged a thorough review of all expenditures and an end to what he termed irresponsible allocation of funds to activist groups. The matter will be referred to the inspector general and the Department of Justice to aid President Trump in regaining control. Zeldin reiterated Trump's commitment to a new era of American success for all citizens. Elon Musk praised Zeldin's efforts on X (formerly Twitter).
