Nineteen migrants are now in custody following a brutal home invasion and kidnapping in Aurora, Colorado, early Tuesday morning. Five additional individuals were apprehended late Tuesday, adding to the fourteen initially detained. The incident, which took place at The Edge at Lowry Apartments, involved two victims being assaulted, bound, and abducted to another unit within the same complex. One victim suffered a stab wound but is expected to recover. Both remain hospitalized.
ICE confirmed that sixteen of the detainees are Venezuelan nationals residing in the U.S. without authorization. These individuals are suspected of having ties to the notorious Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua (TdA). This violent criminal organization has been a growing concern for Aurora residents for over a year, and its presence has escalated in recent months.

The sixteen Venezuelan nationals will remain in ICE custody pending immigration proceedings. While Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain initially indicated the home invasion was gang-related, department representative Joe Moylan clarified that the connection is still under investigation. Authorities are working with Homeland Security Investigators to confirm the identities of all involved and determine the full extent of the gang's involvement. A further press conference is expected once more information is verified.

Castle Pines City Council member Roger Hudson, who has been in contact with the apartment owner, stated that local sentiment points to TdA's involvement. He criticized sanctuary policies in Colorado and Denver, arguing that they hinder law enforcement's ability to protect residents from such threats and contribute to a climate of lawlessness. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to uncover all the details surrounding this disturbing incident.
