A Brazilian couple, Manoel Angelim Dino, 105, and Maria de Sousa Dino, 101, have been recognized by Guinness World Records for having the longest marriage of any living couple. Their love story began in 1936 when they first met while collecting sweets. Although they remained acquaintances for a few years, their paths crossed again in 1940, leading to a romance that has now spanned over eight decades.
Manoel recalls falling in love with Maria instantly upon their reunion. Despite initial hesitation from Maria's mother, Manoel's determination to build a home for their future family won her over. Amidst the backdrop of World War II, the couple cultivated tobacco to provide for their growing family of 13 children.

Their family has blossomed to include 55 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Now, they cherish their time together at home, enjoying the fruits of their long life together. While Manoel primarily rests due to his age, he makes it a point to join Maria every evening in the living room. Together, they listen to a rosary prayer on the radio and watch Mass on television.

When asked about the secret to their enduring marriage, Maria attributes it simply to love, a force she believes transcends even the most complex calculations.

Their remarkable 84-year and 85-day marriage surpasses the previous record held by an American couple. The longest marriage ever recorded belongs to David and Sarah Hiller, whose union lasted an astounding 88 years and 349 days.
