Death of Heather Williams: Investigation into Missing North Carolina Woman's Demise

The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating the death of 25-year-old Heather Williams, whose body was discovered on January 10, 2025, six days after she was reported missing. Williams was last seen entering a light-colored four-door sedan near Berkshire Road on the evening of January 4th. Authorities located her remains in a wooded area near the intersection of Newark Avenue and State Avenue.

The Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, and while they have no further updates to share publicly at this time, they assure the community that they will release additional information as it becomes available. Williams' sister, Mary Williams, expressed her concern for her sister's safety, noting the inherent dangers of being out alone at night. She pleaded with the public to come forward with any information that might help bring justice for Heather.

Police have revealed that Heather Williams had a cognitive impairment. Mary Williams shared that her sister was a hard worker who deeply loved her family and her faith.
