Republican presidential hopeful Larry Elder believes Vice President Kamala Harris's strong support among Black voters guarantees her a prominent role in the 2024 Democratic ticket. Speaking on "Sunday Morning Futures," Elder argued that Harris's popularity, especially among Black women, makes her indispensable to the party, particularly given the significance of South Carolina's early primary, where Black voters hold considerable sway.

Elder suggested that replacing Harris with a white candidate like California Governor Gavin Newsom or Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg would alienate this crucial voting bloc. He also highlighted concerns about President Biden's age and fitness for a second term, echoing speculation that some Democrats see Biden's reelection as a path to installing Harris as president, either through resignation or other means.

While acknowledging the frontrunner status of Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis in the Republican field, Elder expressed confidence in his own candidacy, emphasizing his "America First" approach. He anticipates the upcoming debates as an opportunity to gain momentum and connect with voters.

On the Democratic side, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. presents the most significant challenge to Biden's renomination bid.
