Residents of Deltona, Florida, are on edge due to a concerning new “prank” involving teenagers kicking front doors in the middle of the night. One incident, caught on a Ring doorbell camera just after midnight on Tuesday, shows a shirtless teen, accompanied by at least one other person, kicking a homeowner's door three times before fleeing. Homeowner Jeffrey Gibson described his wife's distress, saying, “She was having a panic attack… absolutely distraught.” He added, “It seemed to be some youths playing what appeared to be a very evil prank.”

The incident, which occurred near Treehaven Drive, has left Gibson wondering about the potential consequences if he had reacted more quickly. “Had they still been there when I opened the front door,” he pondered, “I don’t know that there would have been an element of control from myself or what they would have done.” He expressed concern about the potential for escalation, stating, “This is something that can get people harmed.” Gibson hopes it's just a fleeting trend and that no one gets hurt.

Another Deltona resident, living approximately two miles away, reported a similar experience, fearing a home invasion. Her husband reportedly grabbed a gun and rushed to the door. While the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that these specific incidents were not formally reported, a spokesperson stated they would try to contact the homeowners to facilitate filing reports. They urged anyone experiencing similar incidents to contact the authorities.
