Following their primary election defeats earlier this year, former Representatives Cori Bush (D-MO) and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) have indicated they may seek public office again in the future. Both were members of the progressive “Squad” in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Bush, who served two terms in Congress, stated that another run for office, whether for Congress or a different position, is “not off the table at all.” She expressed her surprise at her shorter-than-anticipated congressional tenure, suggesting a return to politics is likely. While she currently has no concrete plans, Bush affirmed her continued alignment with the “Squad” and its progressive principles, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to advocating for marginalized communities. She warned against underestimating their influence, asserting that they will remain a force in politics.

Similarly, Bowman, also a two-term representative, expressed his openness to a future political comeback. He highlighted his newfound freedom to engage with his community in various capacities outside of Congress, including educational initiatives and community organizing. Bowman emphasized his intention to remain involved in electoral politics through grassroots efforts and fundraising, suggesting a potential return to elected office depending on the circumstances.

He plans to focus on local engagement initially, emphasizing the importance of building power within communities. Both Bush and Bowman's comments come as the “Squad” sees its numbers dwindle in the 119th Congress. Fox News Digital reached out to both former representatives for comment, but did not receive immediate responses.
