Defense attorney Patrick Gibbs argued that three out of the four individuals accusing Kevin Spacey of sexual assault concocted their stories in pursuit of financial gain. Gibbs portrayed Spacey as a vulnerable target due to his lifestyle and the nature of online scrutiny.

The actor is currently standing trial in London, facing charges of sexual assault, indecent assault, and causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The jury is scheduled to commence deliberations soon.

Four men have testified, detailing encounters with Spacey that involved alleged groping. The prosecution countered the defense's claims of fabrication, asserting the similarities in the accusers' accounts pointed to a pattern of behavior rather than a conspiracy. The alleged incidents, spanning from 2001 to 2013, range from unwanted touching to more serious accusations.

Spacey took the stand, denying any violent groping and characterizing his relationship with one of the accusers as "intimate" and "somewhat sexual." This account directly contradicted the accuser's testimony of aggressive, non-consensual touching.

Musician Elton John provided testimony in Spacey's defense via remote appearance, disputing an accuser's timeline of events related to one of John's parties. John confirmed Spacey attended only one such event in 2001, contradicting the accuser's claim of an assault occurring while en route to the party in either 2004 or 2005.

These latest allegations follow previous accusations of sexual misconduct against Spacey, notably by actor Anthony Rapp. Spacey was found not liable in Rapp's civil case. Subsequent accusations led to Spacey's removal from the Netflix series "House of Cards." He has since returned to acting with roles in several films.
