Price stands accused of voting on development projects that directly benefited him financially. Additionally, he allegedly arranged for the city to cover medical benefits for his current wife while he was still married to someone else. Prosecutors claim Price's wife received over $150,000 in unreported payments between 2019 and 2021 from developers connected to projects he supported with his vote. D.A. Gascón reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption at all levels of government.

The charges against Price include five counts of embezzlement, three counts of perjury, and two counts of conflict of interest. This arrest follows a string of corruption cases involving Los Angeles City Council members. Mark Ridley-Thomas was convicted of conspiracy, bribery, and fraud in March 2023. José Huizar pleaded guilty to RICO Act conspiracy and tax evasion in January. Mitchell Englander was convicted in 2021 for attempting to conceal gifts and services he received from business interests.
