A Maryland resident, Jean J. Pierre, 50, has received a 40-year prison sentence for the second-degree murder of his wife, Nerlande Foreste, 41. The tragic event unfolded in August 2019 within their Montgomery Village home. Pierre confessed to stabbing Foreste and disposing of her remains in a dumpster after initially filing a missing person report. Disturbingly, Foreste's body has yet to be recovered.

Following the murder, Pierre placed his wife's body in a shipping container before discarding it. His daughter, from a previous marriage, played a crucial role in the investigation by independently contacting authorities about her stepmother's disappearance and pointing out a suspicious injury on her father's arm.

This marked Pierre's second marriage. Tragically, his first wife and several children perished in the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti. He subsequently relocated to the United States with his surviving daughter after the loss of his family in the disaster.
