Musician Mick Fleetwood expressed his desire for a reconciliation between former Fleetwood Mac bandmates Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. During the Janie's Fund Grammys viewing party, Fleetwood shared his "fantasy" of the two mending their relationship, emphasizing the incredible career they've shared despite their differences.

The complicated history between Buckingham and Nicks spans decades, marked by a romantic relationship and subsequent breakup in 1976, the same year they joined Fleetwood Mac. Nicks' departure from the band in 1990 further strained their relationship. While Nicks maintained a close friendship with bandmate Christine McVie until her passing in November 2022, the future of Fleetwood Mac remains uncertain.

Following McVie's death, Nicks expressed that there was "no path forward" for the band, a sentiment echoed by Fleetwood. He acknowledged the unexpected loss of McVie and the difficulty of continuing without her, recognizing each member's ability to function independently but emphasizing the challenge of performing solo. Despite this, Fleetwood hasn't given up on the idea of playing music again, expressing hope for future opportunities, though not necessarily with Fleetwood Mac.

Fleetwood's desire for reconciliation between Nicks and Buckingham isn't new. In July 2024, he openly expressed his hope for them to resolve their differences, acknowledging the emotional barrier between them. While he doesn't necessarily envision this healing leading to a tour, he clearly desires a mended relationship. Nicks, in a separate interview, addressed the possibility of working with Buckingham again, citing his health challenges as a potential obstacle, particularly considering the demanding nature of Fleetwood Mac's tours.
