Following a devastating mass shooting in southwest Philadelphia that claimed five lives and injured several others, including young children, District Attorney Larry Krasner condemned Pennsylvania's gun laws and targeted Republican legislators. The suspected shooter, apprehended by police, faces multiple charges including murder and aggravated assault.

Krasner expressed his outrage at the state's inadequate gun control measures, comparing them unfavorably to those in neighboring states like New Jersey and Delaware. He specifically criticized Republicans who have chosen to wear AR-15 lapel pins, interpreting this gesture as a disregard for public safety and a call for their removal from office.

Krasner, who was impeached last year by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives over criticisms of his progressive policies and their perceived contribution to the city's crime surge, directly connected the lack of stricter gun laws to the recent tragedy.

The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office has not yet responded to requests for comment.
