Reports have surfaced that tennis star Naomi Osaka has given birth to her first child, a daughter, with her partner, rapper Cordae. The news, initially shared by People magazine, comes after Osaka announced her pregnancy in January and revealed the baby's gender in June. A source close to the couple confirmed they are doing well. While neither Osaka nor Cordae have officially announced the birth on social media, the couple has been together since 2019.

Osaka withdrew from the Australian Open earlier this year, shortly before sharing the news of her pregnancy along with a sonogram image. In a statement at the time, she reflected on the challenges and joys of life, expressing her renewed love for tennis after time away from the sport. She also shared her anticipation of her child watching her play, stating, "I’m looking forward to my kid watching one of my matches and telling someone, ‘that’s my mom.’" Osaka affirmed her intention to return to the Australian Open in 2024.

Although Osaka hasn't competed this year, the two-time Australian Open champion expressed her excitement about having her child watch her play in a May interview with "Today." She described the future moment as "surreal" and "a dream" and said she eagerly awaits the day her child will be in the stands cheering her on.
