The View co-host Ana Navarro expressed her disapproval of lawmakers visiting former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence, comparing it to a pilgrimage. Her comments came during a discussion about Senator John Fetterman's meeting with Trump, which Trump later described as "fascinating."

Navarro questioned the optics of these visits, stating, "It’s become kind of like Donald Trump’s little palace, and it’s like trekking down to Mecca to see the prophet. I don’t like that." Co-host Sunny Hostin echoed this sentiment, expressing discomfort with the perceived "kissing the ring" aspect of visiting Mar-a-Lago. She also criticized Trump's delayed transition process and refusal to sign the GSA agreement.

Despite their reservations about the visits, Navarro and Hostin acknowledged Fetterman's political acumen and agreed that meeting with Trump was a strategically sound move. Navarro emphasized the importance of maintaining traditional bipartisan relationships while also holding Trump accountable for any potential abuses of power. She stated, "The problem is Donald Trump is not normal, and so what used to be normal becomes something that we talk about."

The co-hosts also referenced previous criticism of MSNBC hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough for meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Meanwhile, co-hosts Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin commended Fetterman's objectivity and willingness to engage with Trump.

Fetterman has also indicated his willingness to meet with Trump's cabinet nominees, stating his intention to base his confirmation votes on "an open mind and an informed opinion" after engaging in conversations with them.
