Duffy noted that the impact crater suggests the aircraft descended at a sharp angle. The recovery of the cockpit voice recorder and enhanced ground proximity warning system offers a glimmer of hope for understanding the events leading up to the crash. These crucial pieces of evidence are being sent to the NTSB Vehicle Recorders Laboratory in Washington, D.C. for analysis.
