Legendary rocker Rod Stewart has addressed recent speculation about his retirement, assuring fans he has no intention of quitting music anytime soon. Following comments suggesting a departure from rock 'n' roll, Stewart took to Instagram to clarify his plans, emphasizing his enduring passion for performing.

In his statement, the 78-year-old singer affirmed his commitment to performing "for as long as the good Lord lets me." He explained that his earlier remarks about moving away from rock were misinterpreted. While he is exploring new musical avenues, he reiterated his love for the genre and the iconic hits he's created over the past six decades.

Stewart is currently preparing for his upcoming UK tour with Boy George, starting June 24th. The tour includes stops in several cities across England, along with special solo performances in Edinburgh. Following the UK leg, he will continue touring in the US, South America, and Las Vegas into 2024.

The singer's recent interview with BBC Breakfast sparked the retirement rumors, where he expressed a desire to explore genres beyond rock. However, he clarified that this exploration doesn't mean abandoning his rock roots. He likened his songs to his children, emphasizing his enduring affection for them.

He referenced the success of his previous foray into different genres with The Great American Songbook series, which sold 26 million albums.

After his European tour, Stewart is scheduled to perform in North America from late July through September, followed by his Las Vegas residency in November.
