A romantic connection between tennis stars Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa became apparent during Wimbledon. Their relationship first came to light during Tsitsipas's post-first-round match interview when Badosa was referred to as his "girlfriend" by a BBC presenter. Tsitsipas acknowledged the comment with a smile and a nod towards Badosa, who responded with a fist pump as the crowd cheered.

The presenter also informed Tsitsipas of Badosa's own first-round victory, to which he expressed surprise and congratulations. Badosa reacted with a heart-shaped hand gesture. Tsitsipas later shared that he enjoys playing doubles and mixed doubles with his brother and Badosa, respectively. He fondly referred to Badosa as "Paulita" and expressed his pleasure in sharing these experiences with people who have recently entered his life.

Tsitsipas revealed that their romance began with a text he sent to Badosa after her victory over Ons Jabeur in Rome. He admired her playing style and how she handled the match against a strong clay-court opponent. He believes that multiple "signs" brought them together. Unfortunately, Badosa had to retire from her second-round match and the mixed doubles competition due to a back injury, calling it the "smartest" decision.
