A 69-year-old woman in Northern California demonstrated remarkable courage, confronting a robber who stole her purse and was subsequently dragged by the suspect's vehicle. The incident, which unfolded around 3 p.m. on a Sunday in Alameda, was captured on surveillance footage.

The video shows the woman bravely reaching into the suspect's car in an attempt to retrieve her purse. The thief, however, accelerates, dragging the victim for a short distance. Despite sustaining head injuries and being visibly bloodied, the woman expressed no remorse for her actions in an interview with FOX KTVU. "For me, to fight all the way to the end, I feel good about it," she stated, requesting to remain anonymous.

The incident began with the woman enjoying a snack inside her parked red Ford Mustang. A white car pulled up behind her, and a man exited, approaching the passenger side of her vehicle. He swiftly reached in, grabbed her purse, and ran back to his car. It was at this point that the woman pursued the suspect and attempted to retrieve her belongings through the driver-side window, leading to the harrowing moment captured on video.

While understandably upset by the violation, the woman's primary concern wasn't the purse itself, but rather her expensive prescription Gucci glasses that were inside. "I’m pissed off because this guy was looking for somebody, and I feel violated," she shared, adding, "but I feel good because I put (up) a fight."

The incident occurred near the lagoon on Broadway between Otis and Shore Line Drives in Alameda. While the woman's bravery is commendable, law enforcement officials caution against engaging with or pursuing robbery suspects, emphasizing that personal belongings can be replaced, but personal safety should always be the priority.
