Upon her confirmation and swearing-in as Attorney General, Pam Bondi has issued a series of decisive directives aimed at reshaping the Justice Department. These directives, obtained by Fox News Digital, focus on combating the perceived politicization of the legal system, ensuring vigorous prosecution of violent crimes, and dismantling transnational criminal organizations.

One of Bondi's key directives emphasizes "zealous advocacy" from DOJ attorneys, mandating aggressive enforcement of laws and robust defense of presidential policies. The directive explicitly forbids attorneys from substituting their personal political views for the administration's legal positions. Any attorney deviating from this directive will face disciplinary action, including potential termination.
To address concerns about the politicization of justice, Bondi is establishing a "Weaponization Working Group." This group will scrutinize law enforcement activities over the past four years, focusing on high-profile cases such as prosecutions against former President Trump, including those led by Special Counsel Jack Smith and brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James. The working group will also examine potential prosecutorial abuse related to January 6th, the targeting of Catholic Americans by the FBI, and the DOJ's approach to parents at school board meetings.

In a significant shift from the previous administration, Bondi is lifting the moratorium on federal executions and directing prosecutors to pursue the death penalty in appropriate cases, particularly those involving violent drug trafficking. The DOJ will also review previous decisions not to seek the death penalty. This move comes after President Biden commuted the sentences of numerous death row inmates.
Bondi is also prioritizing the fight against cartels and transnational criminal organizations. She is directing the DOJ to collaborate with the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies to dismantle these groups, focusing on disrupting their operational capacity. Joint Task Force Vulcan, initially established to combat MS-13, and Joint Task Force Alpha, focused on human trafficking, will be strengthened and their missions expanded to target emerging threats like the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

Addressing illegal immigration, Bondi is halting federal funding to sanctuary cities and reviewing funding agreements with NGOs that support undocumented immigrants. She is also directing the DOJ to investigate jurisdictions that obstruct law enforcement efforts.
A new joint task force will focus on holding Hamas accountable for its crimes against Jews and combating terrorist-led antisemitism. This task force will pursue criminal charges, seek the arrest and extradition of Hamas leaders, and investigate antisemitism in the U.S.
Finally, Bondi is mandating the termination of all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs within the DOJ and refocusing hiring and promotion guidelines on merit. She will also collaborate with the Department of Education to ensure fair admission practices in educational institutions receiving federal grants.
