Costco May Ditch Pepsi for Coke in Food Courts, Sparking Social Media Frenzy

Created: JANUARY 26, 2025

Rumors are swirling online that Costco might be bringing back Coca-Cola products to its food courts in early 2025, replacing Pepsi after over a decade. The news, initially reported by Costco Insider on Instagram, has generated considerable excitement among Costco shoppers.

Costco originally switched from Coke to Pepsi in 2013 as a cost-cutting measure to maintain the iconic $1.50 hot dog and soda combo price. Despite the change, Costco has held firm on the combo's price, a point of pride for the wholesale giant.

Costco Insider editor Matt West confirmed hearing the news from multiple sources and expressed his personal enthusiasm for the potential return of Coke. A poll conducted by Costco Insider revealed that a significant majority (87%) of their followers prefer Coke over Pepsi.

Costco Insider suggests the switch, expected in early 2025, will enhance the quality and consistency of fountain drinks at Costco food courts. Coke reportedly has stricter guidelines for machine upkeep and syrup mixing.

Social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Reddit, have seen an outpouring of positive reactions to the news. Many users expressed their preference for Coke and their anticipation of enjoying it again at Costco. However, not all share the same sentiment, with a few expressing disappointment over the potential switch.
