Dunne and Skenes Reunite in Baton Rouge as LSU Gymnastics Starts Season with a Win

Gymnastics star Livvy Dunne and her boyfriend, MLB Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes, were back in Baton Rouge as Dunne's LSU Tigers began their title defense. The second-ranked Tigers dominated Iowa State with a final score of 197.300-194.100 in their season opener.

Dunne, now in her fifth year with the team, contributed solid performances, scoring 9.875 on the floor exercise (placing third) and 9.825 on the beam (placing fourth). Skenes, the former LSU pitching ace and current Pittsburgh Pirate, cheered her on from the stands.

Skenes led LSU to a College World Series title before being selected first overall in the 2023 MLB Draft. His impressive rookie season included an All-Star Game appearance and a third-place finish in the NL Cy Young voting.

LSU gymnast Aleah Finnegan, a Filipino Olympian, delivered a standout all-around performance, scoring 39.725.

The meet followed a recent New Year's trip for Dunne and Skenes to New Orleans, just a short drive from Baton Rouge.
