An IRS whistleblower who raised concerns about the Justice Department's handling of the Hunter Biden investigation has publicly identified as a gay Democrat, emphasizing that his actions are driven by patriotism, not political bias.

In a transcript released by the House Ways and Means Committee, the whistleblower stated, "I'm an American, and my loyalty lies with my country and government. I'm also a gay man. My personal life includes my husband, two dogs, a home, and a network of loved ones. But fundamentally, I am a human being."

Addressing online speculation about his motivations, particularly given the timing coinciding with Pride Month, the whistleblower clarified, "Some have suggested that because I'm gay and involved in this case, I must be a far-left liberal with an agenda. This has circulated on social media. I want to be clear: I am none of those things."

He further explained his commitment to impartiality: "I've always aimed to keep politics out of my work on cases." He described his political views as "middle of the road" and identified as a Democrat, noting that his beliefs had evolved from a more conservative upbringing.

This whistleblower and another have accused the Biden administration of hindering U.S. Attorney David Weiss’s Hunter Biden investigation, culminating in a plea deal that they believe reflects preferential treatment and a slow-walking of the investigative process. The whistleblowers allege that the DOJ failed to address clear conflicts of interest.

Hunter Biden has agreed to plead guilty to two tax-related misdemeanors.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has refuted these claims, asserting that Weiss, appointed by President Trump, had full authority to conduct the investigation and pursue prosecution as he saw fit. Garland questioned how anyone could have obstructed Weiss, given his independent authority.
