Joe Rogan's wildfire prediction for Los Angeles resurfaces amid devastating fires

Created: JANUARY 26, 2025

An old clip of podcast host Joe Rogan predicting a major wildfire disaster in Los Angeles has gained renewed attention as the city grapples with devastating fires. Rogan, during a July 2024 podcast conversation with comedian Sam Morril, recounted a conversation with a Los Angeles firefighter who warned of the potential for a catastrophic wildfire under the right conditions. The firefighter had reportedly told Rogan, "One day, it's just going to be the right wind, and fire's going to start in the right place, and it's going to burn through L.A. all the way to the ocean, and there’s not a f---ing thing we can do about it."

This prediction has become chillingly relevant as multiple wildfires currently rage across Los Angeles County, forcing evacuations and causing widespread destruction. Firefighters are battling intense flames fueled by strong winds, with some gusts reported to reach up to 100 miles per hour. The situation has been described as "dramatic and apocalyptic" by LAFD Captain Sheila Kelliher. Rogan's firefighter source had emphasized the role of wind in such a scenario, suggesting previous escapes were a matter of luck. "We just get lucky," the firefighter reportedly said. "We get lucky with the wind… But if the wind hits the wrong way, it’s just going to burn straight through L.A."

Raging fire devours home

Rogan, who relocated from California to Texas in 2020, cited the constant threat of wildfires as a contributing factor to his move. He recounted being evacuated from his home three times due to fires, with one incident resulting in two houses near his property burning down. The ongoing fires in Los Angeles underscore the severity of the wildfire threat and the prescience of Rogan's earlier warning.
