A substantial demonstration unfolded outside Dodger Stadium hours before the start of the team's Pride Night, where The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence were scheduled to be honored. The protest, organized by Catholics for Catholics, a group that has publicly criticized The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for their perceived mockery of Christianity, took the form of a planned four-hour "prayerful procession."

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a performance art and activist group identifying as an "Order of queer and trans nuns," were set to receive the Community Hero Award during a pregame ceremony. Catholics for Catholics encouraged widespread participation in their protest, framing it as a response to perceived offenses against Jesus Christ and Christians.

Videos circulating on social media depicted a large crowd gathered outside the stadium, holding signs, flags, and engaging in prayer. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, acknowledging the protesters' right to free speech, referenced their own history of activism, including involvement in protests against Proposition 8.

Shortly before the game, the protesters lined the sidewalks and reportedly blocked one of the stadium entrances. The Dodgers organization did not immediately comment on the protest's potential impact on game attendees. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have a history of fundraising for LGBTQ+ causes.
