Washington Mystics guard Natasha Cloud voiced strong disapproval of the United States on Friday in response to several Supreme Court decisions. Cloud's criticism followed rulings against affirmative action in college admissions and in favor of a website designer who refused to create websites for same-sex weddings, citing religious objections.

The Supreme Court's decision on affirmative action effectively ended race as a determining factor in college admissions, while the ruling in favor of the website designer affirmed the right to refuse services based on religious beliefs related to same-sex marriage. These rulings sparked a wave of reactions across the country.
Cloud expressed her frustration on social media platforms. On Twitter, she stated, "Our country is trash in so many ways…we continue to oppress Marginalized groups…Black/brown communities & LGBTQ+…we are too powerful to still be attacking issues separate." She also shared news articles about the rulings on her Instagram account, adding commentary critical of the decisions and their potential impact.

In addition to the rulings mentioned above, the Supreme Court also blocked the Biden administration's student loan forgiveness program, a decision that impacts millions of borrowers. Chief Justice John Roberts, writing for the majority, explained that the administration overstepped its authority in implementing the plan.
