Nineteen fatalities have been reported in Lahore since Wednesday, attributed to collapsing structures and electrocution. Pakistan's meteorological agency has issued warnings of further rainfall in the city.
A devastating landslide in Shangla, a district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, claimed the lives of at least eight children. Rescue efforts are underway to clear the substantial mudslide, with fears that more children may be trapped beneath the debris.

Heavy rainfall continues to batter the country, causing the Jhelum and Chenab rivers in Punjab province to overflow. Disaster management agencies are on high alert for flash floods. This deluge comes just a year after devastating floods submerged a third of Pakistan, resulting in 1,739 deaths and $30 billion in damages.
