Chaos in Syracuse: 13 Injured in Overnight Mass Gathering

A chaotic scene unfolded in Syracuse, New York, early Sunday morning as a mass gathering of hundreds spiraled into violence, leaving at least 13 people injured. Police responded to reports of gunfire around 12:22 a.m. in the 100 block of Davis Street, encountering a massive crowd at the intersection of Davis and Massena Streets.

According to Syracuse Police spokesman Lt. Matthew Malinowski, officers discovered multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds, stabbings, and injuries sustained after being struck by fleeing vehicles. The victims, ranging in age from 17 to 25, are expected to survive their injuries.

The injured individuals were found both at the scene and at local hospitals. The reported injuries include gunshot wounds to the hip, abdomen, forearm, and midsection, as well as lacerations and abrasions resulting from stabbings and vehicle impacts. Specifically, police reported a 20-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the right hip, a 22-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, a 17-year-old female with gunshot wounds to the hip and midsection, a 20-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the forearm, and several others with lacerations and abrasions.

Four individuals were injured after being struck by vehicles fleeing the scene. A 24-year-old female suffered lacerations to both legs, while three others sustained abrasions after being hit and falling to the ground.
