Quarterback Drake Maye is capping off his first NFL season with a significant personal milestone. The 22-year-old recently announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Ann Hudson via Instagram, sharing a photo of the beach proposal with the caption, "Love doing life with you. Can’t wait to marry you." The couple, both University of North Carolina alumni, celebrated nine years together last October.

Maye, the Patriots' third overall pick, navigated a challenging rookie season, starting as a backup to Jacoby Brissett before taking the reins in Week 6. In his 12 starts, he threw for 2,276 yards with a 66.6% completion rate, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also added 421 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Maye's engagement comes amidst a period of transition for the Patriots. Following their season finale, the team dismissed first-year head coach Jerod Mayo, a decision met with criticism from former Patriots players. New England quickly filled the vacancy by hiring Mike Vrabel, a move many anticipated. Patriots fans are hopeful that Vrabel can guide Maye and the team towards a Super Bowl victory in the coming seasons.
