After 16 years, authorities have made an arrest in the death of Samantha Lang, whose body was discovered in her Pennsylvania residence in March 2007. 53-year-old Charles Earl Ream of Latrobe is now facing charges of homicide, robbery, burglary, and theft.

Crime Scene in Pennsylvania

Lang, 22, was found deceased in her living room with a fractured skull, a cut throat, and a broken left ring finger. The scene suggested a struggle, with the home ransacked and a strong marijuana odor present. Authorities have previously linked the residence to drug activity.

Ream, who was among the last individuals seen with Lang, was initially questioned by law enforcement in 2007. He claimed to have purchased heroin from her shortly before her death. Over the years, an undisclosed male informant reportedly told investigators that Ream confessed to the killing, claiming his intent was to break Lang's fingers to locate her drug stash, not to murder her. More recently, a female informant revealed she overheard Ream admitting to the crime and expressing remorse, citing his concern for his daughter and a desire to avoid repercussions for past actions.

Ream is currently in custody without bail. He has not yet secured legal representation.
