Following the House vote to reinstate Rep. Mike Johnson as Speaker, Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., experienced a fall on a staircase within the Capitol building. The incident, which occurred on the Republican side of the Capitol, resulted in minor injuries for the 81-year-old congresswoman, who chairs the House Education Committee.
Capitol medical personnel promptly attended to Foxx, who was observed bleeding after the fall. While the extent of her injuries was initially unclear, it appeared she suffered a bloody nose. Thankfully, Foxx was able to walk after the incident and was escorted to the Capitol physician's office for further evaluation.

Later, Foxx took to social media to reassure concerned parties, confirming her well-being with a touch of humor. "Thank you to everyone for your prayers – just a few small cuts, and I’m doing just fine," she posted. "I’m a mountain woman, and we’re tougher than a $2 steak."
