Actor Nicolas Cage and his son, Weston Coppola Cage, are being sued by Cage's ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, following an alleged assault. Fulton claims Cage neglected their son's mental health issues, contributing to the incident.

The lawsuit alleges Weston has a history of mental health struggles and violent behavior, which Fulton claims Cage was aware of but failed to address. She accuses the actor of enabling Weston's behavior by bailing him out of jail multiple times and consuming alcohol with him, despite alleged substance abuse issues. Fulton further contends that Cage did not seek appropriate psychiatric care for their son, describing Weston's lifestyle as "reckless."

Cage's legal team has responded, calling Fulton's allegations "absurd and frivolous," emphasizing that Weston is a 34-year-old adult and that Cage is not responsible for his actions. They maintain that Cage does not control Weston's behavior and is not liable for the alleged assault.

The alleged assault occurred at Fulton's Los Angeles residence on April 28, 2024, during an argument that reportedly turned physical. Weston allegedly "punched two victims multiple times," resulting in injuries. He was subsequently arrested in July on a felony assault charge after turning himself in on a warrant. He was released on bond.

Following the incident, Fulton stated the importance of her son receiving necessary help. Cage has three children with three different women: Weston with Fulton, Kal-El with his third wife Alice Kim, and August with his fifth wife, Riko Shibata.
