The scheme involved Capone's Overtime Promotions and Parenti's Diamond Legends selling the forged items after Branco, an employee of Beckett Authentication Services, falsely verified their authenticity. Branco even photographed Kelce at a legitimate signing event to bolster the deception.

Authorities were alerted to the fraudulent activity by a Pennsylvania memorabilia company that had previously worked with Kelce. The ensuing investigation revealed the alleged conspiracy among the three individuals.

Each of the accused faces 60 felony counts. Capone has been released on bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for February 5th.

This incident comes as Kelce concludes his first season after retiring from the NFL. The former Eagles center had a decorated career, including a Super Bowl victory, seven Pro Bowl selections, and six First-Team All-Pro honors. His former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, are currently vying for a spot in Super Bowl LIX.
