During a House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday featuring IRS whistleblowers, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) ignited controversy by displaying graphic images from Hunter Biden's laptop. The hearing focused on allegations of misconduct within the investigation of the Biden family's finances. The whistleblowers, IRS Special Agent Joseph Ziegler, whose identity was revealed during the proceedings, and his supervisor, Gary Shapley, testified about alleged political interference in the Hunter Biden probe. Shapley had previously raised concerns about political influence impacting decisions in the long-running federal investigation. Ziegler's testimony included claims that Hunter Biden had improperly deducted a $10,000 "golf club membership" on his 2018 tax return, which Ziegler identified as payment to a sex club. He further stated that Biden expensed payments to prostitutes as business costs.

Greene presented censored explicit photos from the laptop, alleging that Hunter Biden's payment for a woman to travel across state lines for sexual acts constituted a violation of the Mann Act. As she held up additional photos, describing them as evidence of pornography production, Democratic representatives voiced strong objections, calling the display "unbecoming" and questioning its appropriateness. Greene's allotted time expired amidst the interruptions.

Ziegler, a self-identified gay Democrat with over 12 years in the IRS' criminal investigative division, made his first public appearance at the hearing. Shapley had previously testified before the House Ways and Means Committee. Both whistleblowers allege interference by Justice Department, FBI, and IRS officials in the Hunter Biden investigation, claiming that political considerations influenced decisions.
