The individual suspected of assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown Manhattan traveled to New York City by Greyhound bus from Atlanta just days before Thanksgiving, according to law enforcement sources.
Thompson was fatally shot near the Hilton Hotel early Wednesday morning. The suspect, who remains at large, is believed to have discarded a burner phone in a nearby alley following the attack. Investigators are currently analyzing data and fingerprints recovered from the device.

Surveillance footage released by the NYPD captures a person of interest in the vicinity of the crime scene. Furthermore, the suspect reportedly used a fraudulent identification to secure lodging at a hostel prior to the incident.
Adding another layer to the investigation, cryptic messages were discovered etched onto the bullet casings. Sources suggest the words "deny," "depose," and "defend" were inscribed, possibly intended as a form of communication or statement. A water bottle left at a nearby Starbucks, where the suspect paid in cash, is also being examined for DNA evidence.

Former NYPD Inspector and Fox News contributor Paul Mauro cautioned against premature conclusions regarding the suspect's alleged professionalism, emphasizing that the reality of "hitmen" often differs from cinematic portrayals. He stressed that much of the current information is speculative.

Additional surveillance footage from a local deli appears to show the suspect approaching the Hilton Hotel shortly before the shooting. The individual's build and attire match the description of the suspect observed in other videos.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
