A recent cruise took a tragic turn when a passenger, identified as 35-year-old Michael Virgil, died shortly after being restrained by security personnel. The incident unfolded on Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas shortly after the ship departed from the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal, en route to Ensenada, Mexico.

Cell phone footage captured the chaotic scene, showing Virgil attempting to force his way through a door. Passenger Christifer Mikhail recounted the unsettling experience to FOX 11 Los Angeles, stating, "The man, who appeared intoxicated, threatened us and then pursued us down the hallway." Virgil is also alleged to have assaulted two crew members.

Reports indicate that Virgil was using profane language and racial slurs during the episode. Video evidence shows security personnel subduing him using restraints, including what appeared to be pepper or bear spray, towels, zip ties, and handcuffs.

A family member informed FOX 11 that Virgil passed away within an hour of receiving a sedative injection from the ship's security. They emphasized that this behavior was out of character for him and expressed their grief, stating, "He didn't deserve this outcome." Virgil leaves behind a wife and a 7-year-old son, who were accompanying him on the cruise.
