Florida Man Apprehended After Alleged Home Invasion and Stabbing

In Tice, Florida, a 33-year-old man, Bonnier Jose Sarmiento Lanza, was arrested following an alleged home invasion and stabbing incident on Sunday. According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, Lanza entered a residence on New York Drive and attacked a woman sleeping inside, stabbing her multiple times. Another individual present in the home was also reportedly assaulted by Lanza before he fled the scene.

Deputies responding to the scene provided immediate medical attention to the victim, who sustained multiple stab wounds. Simultaneously, the Sheriff's Office deployed its drone unit to track the suspect from above. Drone footage captured Lanza moving through the neighborhood before being located and apprehended by law enforcement.

Police pursue fleeing suspect in Florida

The victim is currently reported to be in stable condition. Sheriff Carmine Marceno commended the swift action of the deputies and drone operator in apprehending the suspect, highlighting the effectiveness of technology and dedicated patrol work. The Sheriff's Office confirmed that Lanza and the victim were acquainted.

Lanza is now facing serious charges, including two counts of burglary with battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
