Ex-NFL wide receiver Kadarius Toney, who played for the New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs, was arrested in July following an incident where he allegedly strangled a woman. According to reports, Toney is accused of applying pressure to the woman's throat, restricting her ability to breathe. He also allegedly confiscated her phone to prevent her from contacting authorities. The incident reportedly left visible marks on her neck and caused hemorrhaging in her eyes.

Toney, a first-round draft pick in 2021, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from January 15th, the day before the alleged altercation took place. He now faces charges of aggravated assault-strangulation and obstructing/harassing 911 calls. A representative for Toney has been contacted for comment.
Drafted 20th overall by the Giants out of the University of Florida, Toney's time in New York was marked by inconsistency. He was later traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he contributed to their Super Bowl victory with a record-breaking punt return and a crucial fourth-quarter touchdown.

However, his time in Kansas City also ended on a difficult note, culminating in his omission from the subsequent Super Bowl roster. Questions arose about Toney's health status, as he missed the final seven games of the season, including the playoffs. The situation sparked controversy and conflicting statements regarding his physical condition.

Toney's most recent stint with the Cleveland Browns was brief. After a single game marked by a muffed punt and a taunting penalty, he was released from the team.
