CBS Miami reporter Samantha Rivera gained significant attention during the Stanley Cup playoffs when she fended off an enthusiastic fan attempting to enter her live shot. The incident occurred while Rivera was reporting on the Vegas Golden Knights' victory over the Florida Panthers in Game 2. While she was praised for her professionalism in handling the situation and continuing her report, the aftermath brought an unwelcome wave of online negativity.

In a recent statement, Rivera revealed the unfortunate consequence of her viral moment: a barrage of hateful messages and comments. She responded to the negativity, suggesting those responsible reconsider their actions.
ESPN Las Vegas’ Willie Ramirez expressed his support for Rivera, condemning the threats and highlighting the absurdity of attacking someone over a reaction in a highly charged moment. He spent some time speaking with Rivera and was appalled to learn of the death threats she had been receiving.

Rivera further discussed the incident and its aftermath during an interview with SiriusXM NHL Network Radio. She expressed surprise at the widespread reaction to the video, admitting initial hesitation about sharing it publicly. She felt compelled, however, to emphasize the importance of allowing reporters to perform their duties without interference.
