A 26-year-old man has been taken into custody in St. Clair Shores, a Detroit suburb, following a police pursuit and car crash. The arrest is related to the kidnapping of two-year-old Wynter Smith from Lansing. However, the child was not found with the suspect, and authorities are continuing their search.
Wynter, a young Black girl with braided hair, was last seen wearing a white shirt adorned with rainbows. Law enforcement agencies are urging the public to be on the lookout and report any information that might lead to her safe return.

The suspect, who is reportedly an acquaintance of Wynter's mother from a previous relationship, allegedly abducted the toddler and stole the mother's vehicle on Sunday. The mother, a 22-year-old woman, sustained stab wounds during the incident and received medical treatment at a local hospital.
The Lansing Police Department issued an Amber Alert in the early hours of Monday morning, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. The FBI has joined the investigation and is actively assisting in the search for Wynter. The agency reiterated its commitment to supporting law enforcement partners in such critical missing person cases.
