Tragedy struck in White Settlement, Texas, on Wednesday morning as a 79-year-old beekeeper lost his life in a fire while collecting honey. The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on Vaquero Street. According to White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook, the beekeeper was tending to his bees when a fire ignited in a building behind the house. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
First responders encountered a swarm of bees at the scene, requiring the assistance of a local beekeeper. Three responders – a police officer and two firefighters – suffered bee stings but are expected to recover. The cause of the fire and the beekeeper's death remain under investigation, and authorities have not yet released the victim's identity.
