During a New York Young Republican Club gala on Sunday night, Alex Bruesewitz, an advisor to President-elect Trump's campaign, experienced a sudden health scare, collapsing onstage while giving a speech. The 27-year-old was in the process of introducing incoming White House senior aide Dan Scavino at a Manhattan venue when the incident occurred. Video footage circulating on social media shows Bruesewitz struggling with his words before losing consciousness.
Attendees swiftly provided assistance, and while the immediate cause of the collapse remains unclear, the master of ceremonies, Raheem Kassam, later reassured the audience about Bruesewitz's condition. Kassam, a former aide to British politician Nigel Farage, relayed that Bruesewitz was recovering backstage and had even jokingly inquired about his appearance during the fall.
President-elect Trump also addressed the situation, expressing confidence in Bruesewitz's resilience and referring to him as a "tough individual." Trump extended his well wishes to Bruesewitz, emphasizing his regard for him.
Bruesewitz serves as the CEO of X Strategies LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to supporting "America First" candidates. His company's website describes him as a dedicated political strategist known for his staunch support of President Trump and his agenda. It also highlights his efforts to replace Republicans who oppose Trump and the MAGA movement with those who align with their values.
Prior to the incident, Bruesewitz had been praising the New York Republican Club for their support of Trump's campaign. He also acknowledged several Trump supporters present at the event, including former Florida congressman Matt Gaetz. Other notable speakers at the gala included Steve Bannon and Corey Lewandowski.
