In a recent interview on "The Story," Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie strongly condemned former President Donald Trump's behavior, characterizing it as self-serving. Christie's remarks were a direct response to Trump's criticism of him during an exclusive interview with Fox News' Bret Baier.
Christie questioned Trump's leadership capacity, stating, "All he cares about is himself. He puts himself first and everyone else second." He further dismissed Trump's insults as complimentary, suggesting they validated his criticisms.

The exchange stemmed from Trump's claim that he could resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict within 24 hours if elected president. Christie had previously labeled this assertion "ridiculous," accusing Trump of potentially appeasing Russia. He also criticized Trump for not explicitly supporting Ukraine in the war.
During the Fox News interview, Trump reiterated his claim about resolving the conflict swiftly, but also attacked Christie's record as governor of New Jersey, referencing the Bridgegate scandal and his low approval ratings upon leaving office. Trump also highlighted his good relationships with both Zelenskyy and Putin.
Christie responded by questioning Trump's understanding of the situation, suggesting he was "making it up." He also dismissed Trump's insults, stating, "He insults everyone." Christie further criticized Trump's justification for not sorting through boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago, which led to his indictment on 37 federal charges. Trump had claimed he was "too busy" to deal with the documents, but Christie pointed out Trump's frequent golfing since leaving the White House, implying he had ample time.

This latest exchange continues the ongoing feud between Trump and Christie, who entered the GOP presidential race earlier this month. Christie recently called Trump "a juvenile" and "a baby" after Trump made fat jokes about him. Christie compared Trump's behavior to that of a child, suggesting he should be "sent to his room, not the White House."
