Following a serious health crisis in 2023, actor and comedian Jamie Foxx has spoken about a rekindled connection with his faith. Foxx, 57, was nominated for a Golden Globe for his Netflix special, "Jamie Foxx: What Happened Was…" During his recovery from a brain bleed and subsequent stroke and coma, he reflected on his relationship with God.
In an interview on the Golden Globes red carpet, Foxx shared that the demands of Hollywood had made it challenging to maintain a strong spiritual connection. However, his health scare brought him back to his faith. He described a feeling of being called to reassess his life and priorities, though not necessarily to drastically change his ways.
Foxx emphasized the importance of family and friends during difficult times, expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of his daughters, Corinne and Anelise, who accompanied him to the awards ceremony. He acknowledged their crucial role in his recovery.
He also acknowledged the outpouring of prayers he received from fans and well-wishers during his illness. In a previous social media post, Foxx had expressed his deep appreciation for these prayers, stating that they played a vital role in his recovery.
Now, almost two years after his health scare, Foxx maintains a positive outlook, viewing each day as a gift. He uses the analogy of a photo filter brightening an image to describe his new perspective on life.
