Magna, a prominent auto parts manufacturer, is making a significant investment of over $790 million to establish two new facilities in Tennessee. These plants will supply crucial components to Ford Motor Co.'s upcoming electric truck factory, as announced by officials. This substantial investment is projected to create approximately 1,300 new jobs across three different plants: two in Stanton and an assembly plant in Lawrenceburg.
Ford's electric pickup truck factory, a joint venture with South Korean battery manufacturer SK On, is located in Stanton. The automaker anticipates that the combined assembly and battery plants will employ around 6,000 individuals, representing a total investment of roughly $5.6 billion. Magna's role in this venture involves supplying essential parts for these electric trucks.

The two Magna facilities at BlueOval City in Stanton will focus on the production of frames, battery enclosures, and seating. Stanton is strategically situated approximately 50 miles east of Memphis. Additionally, Magna, headquartered in Ontario, Canada, will manufacture truck frames in Lawrenceburg, roughly 130 miles east of Stanton.
Ford's ambitious plan is to commence production by 2025, aiming for an annual output of up to 500,000 electric trucks once full production capacity is reached.
