Created: JANUARY 24, 2025

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported a confirmed MS-13 gang member, Jose Benedicto Mojica Aldana, back to El Salvador on Friday, where he is wanted for murder. Mojica had entered the United States illegally at an unspecified time and place. ICE agents apprehended him near Annapolis, Maryland, in June 2022 and held him at a detention facility in Cambridge, Maryland. He was later transferred to the Moshannon Valley Processing Center in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. Following an immigration judge's deportation order in December and a failed appeal, Mojica was removed from the U.S. Cammilla Wamsley, Director of the ICE ERO Philadelphia Field Office, emphasized the agency's commitment to removing dangerous individuals like Mojica, who pose a threat to public safety.
