Understanding Share Item Location

Share Item Location allows you to generate a secure link displaying the location of your AirTag or any compatible Find My network accessory. This link can be shared with individuals or even organizations like airlines to assist in locating misplaced items.

How It Works

Recipients can view the shared location on an interactive map via a web browser. The location updates automatically with a timestamp indicating the last refresh. The shared link automatically expires after seven days or upon retrieval of the item, whichever occurs first.

Apple prioritizes privacy. The shared location can be deactivated anytime by the owner and automatically expires after seven days. The owner can also monitor how many times the shared link has been accessed.
